After months of planning and preparation, we finally opened our doors to the masses last week and held the grand opening of our new TPA2 data center. Throughout the night, over 150 techies from the Tampa Bay area were treated to food, drink and most importantly…facility tours. Were it not for a few swag swipers everyone would have also gone home with a Yeti tumbler and Hivelocity t-shirt parting gift. For those of you reading this while sipping on an ever-cold drink from one of your numerous Hivelocity Yetis…we expect you to buy lots of services from us, so enjoy 🙂 !

TPA2 Hivelocity Opening Party!

As it turns out, data centers are really hard locations to throw a party. With no eating or drinking on the raised floor and a NOC full of engineers trying to work…where the heck do you have a party? In the warehouse of course! We transformed our warehouse into party central and it turned out way better than we could have hoped. The warehouse actually helped create a much better party vibe than what any regular finished office space would have.

Every 15 minutes the DJ let everyone know where to go for the next data center tour. Toward the end of the night we cut the ribbon to make TPA2’s grand opening official.

We also want to acknowledge the incredible job done by Alyssa and the entire team at https://www.eventingtampabay.com/. This event and the warehouse transformation would not have happened without their vision and efforts.
