Dedicated server, colocation and cloud hosting service provider, Hivelocity, announced today the introduction of its new Dual E5-2600 Haswell Xeon server line. Within this new server line systems can be acquired with up to two eighteen core processors equaling an impressive sixteen physical cores.

“Many of our customers require that latest in processing technology to sustain their businesses and ensure their growing resource needs are met. Whether it be a highly utilized application that millions of people are accessing or a cloud solution with loads of virtual machines, there are many scenarios our clientele will appreciate those extra cores. We never limit what a customer can do on one of our servers. With each new generation of processor we are able to expand our offerings and raise the ceiling on what can be accomplished on a single system. With these latest dual socket E5 chips we are able to offer customers eight cores all the way to two eighteen core processors on one server. While the upper echelon dual octadeca core systems may be overkill for most, we have some power hungry customers that will jump right into one of these,” says Hivelocity’s CTO, Ben Linton.

Intel’s newest E5-2600 v3 processors produce more power while using less energy than previous chips. These new chips also support DDR4 memory which are also more powerful while being more energy efficient than DDR3. The new Haswell Xeons also include Quick-Assist technology, which provides security features on a hardware level.
