Dedicated server, cloud hosting and colocation services provider, Hivelocity, announced this week that a deal has been inked with Comcast to add Comcast fiber to the Hivelocity Network. Comcast has joined Level 3, Time Warner Telecom, Global Crossing, GTT and Cogent to become the 6th bandwidth carrier on Hivelocity’s network.

Over the last year Hivelocity has enhanced its network numerous times and in numerous ways further expanding its global reach. Last October Hivelocity introduced the Noction Intelligent Routing Platform ensuring customers always receive the absolute fastest path over their multi-homed network blend. It was only 9 months ago Hivelocity added GTT transit to its network, at the time, making 5 providers. Shortly after GTT was added Hivelocity began setting up a national traffic peering network with points of presence now in Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles and Seattle. Hivelocity announced in June its plans to establish new peering locations in Miami, Chicago, New York City and Europe starting this final quarter of 2013.

“We have customers in over 130 countries world-wide. In order to serve businesses around the world like we do, a diverse network is critical. The incredible performance of our network globally is why we are able to serve customers on 6 of 7 continents. Adding Comcast only improves our network even further and adds another level of redundancy for our customers,” says Dan Protich, a Senior Network Engineer with Hivelocity.
