Founded in 2001, Hivelocity provides dedicated server, VPS and Cloud hosting services to customers from over 135 countries worldwide. Hivelocity’s connectivity is comprised of multiple Tier 1 back-bone providers such as: Level 3, Time Warner Telecom, Global Crossing and Cogent. The company currently has over 100 Gbps bandwidth capacity.

Hivelocity uses route optimization technology to manage bandwidth with its multiple carriers, monitor and track packet loss, jitter, and latency, and proactively adjust network paths to deliver superior IP network connectivity. The company had realized the necessity of enabling intelligent routing to their multi-homed network back in March 2010, when it deployed Internap’s FCP. Noction IRP will replace the existing FCP appliance in Hivelocity’s network.

The Intelligent Routing Platform allows setting Internet traffic policies based on Hivelocity’s business priorities and improves its network performance with real-time optimization for all network traffic. Noction IRP continuously monitors the flows to identify destination networks and measures actual traffic performance to these networks across the connected providers. IRP uses the gathered metrics to determine whether the performance policies defined by Hivelocity are being met and makes route changes in compliance with these policies.

As a result, IRP improves Hivelocity’s overall network performance, increases network uptime, and improves network stability. It allows Hivelocity to redeploy technical resources and focus on improvements rather than manual BGP problem resolution.

“Route optimization is our core business and we fully focus on it,” said Noction President, Grigore Raileanu. “Our system compiles all the best features from existing and past competitors and we continue adding business critical benefits.”
