Hivelocity has partnered with Microsoft to provide you with all of the Windows Operating Systems for your dedicated server. We offer both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of each OS, when applicable.  Please consult with one of our Account managers to consider which version is going to be the best for you. Our Windows Dedicated Servers can be coupled with WebSitePanel, Enkompass or Plesk control panels for additional web server enhancement.

Available Windows Operating Systems include;

Both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of the Windows OS support up to 4GB ram.  However, if you plan on adding more than 4GB or have chosen a 2008 R2 edition, you will need to choose 64 bit.  The 32 bit version can only support up to 4GB or memory with the edition of a PAE kernel.  Consult with our Account Managers beforehand so we can be sure you get exactly what OS is best for you.

Windows 2003 Standard Edition is a full featured operating system, which has expanded hardware support capabilities. Windows 2003 Standard supports up to 4 physical processors. Both 32 bit processor and up to 4GB of RAM and 64 bit processor with up to 32GB of RAM. The standard edition is designed primarily for small to medium sized businesses.

Windows Server 2003 Web Edition is primarily designed for web hosting applications. There is only a 32 bit version this version supports 1 physical processor and 2GB of RAM maximum. Additionally Microsoft Windows Media Services are not supported by Windows Server 2003 Web Edition.

Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition supports up to 8 processors with up to 64GB of RAM supported under the 32 bit version and up to 2 terabytes of RAM under the 64 bit version.
